Bio
Coach Hughes enters his ninth year as head coach of the Pirates. His men went 15-1-2 last year, earning the programs’ fourteenth division title and seventh NWAC championship. Hughes, of London, England, initially returned to Peninsula College in 2015, a place where he played from 2010-2012, winning an NWAC championship in 2010 and capturing West Division titles both years. In 2019, 2023, and 2024, Hughes received recognition as the NWAC Coach of the Year. Hughes has an Associate of Arts Degree from Peninsula College, a Bachelor’s Degree in English-Mass Communication from Adams State, and a Masters Degree in Instructional Design and Technology through American College of Education. In addition to coaching, Hughes is an Academic Advisor. He and his wife Kelsey reside in Sequim, Washington with their two young daughters, Millie and Willow.
