Bio
With over two decades of coaching experience in Washington, Colorado, and Minnesota, Sam Havens serves as an assistant coach at Peninsula College, where he shares his passion for player development and the game. His career reflects a commitment to helping athletes grow on and off the field, fostering teamwork, and instilling a lifelong love of soccer.
 
Sam grew up in Olympia, Washington, and played for Capital High School and Thurston County Inferno before continuing his career at Carleton College in Northfield, MN, where he earned a B.A. in Economics. He later completed a Master’s degree in History at the University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom.
 
Now deeply rooted in the Port Angeles community, where he has lived for the past ten years, Sam balances his passion for soccer with family life alongside his wife, Laura, and step-sons, Taylor (22) and Trevor (19). Outside of soccer, he enjoys traveling, fly fishing, and hiking.
